Within the circular economy context, SICIT is a pioneer in transforming processing residues from the tanning industry into high-added value products.
The management model adopted has two main directions:
01
SICIT recovers residues from the production cycles of tanneries, reducing the economic and environmental burden of disposal for the production sectors involved. This results in twofold optimisation: the environmental burden of upstream processes is lightened and resources otherwise destined for waste are used as secondary raw materials.
02
Residues find new life in a range of sustainable products: from biostimulants for agriculture to gypsum retardants, to the production of biofuel from alternative sources. With this strategy, SICIT minimises the need to exploit primary resources, promoting a virtuous production cycle and a smaller ecological footprint.
Through these strategies, SICIT reaffirms its commitment to a production model that integrates efficiency and sustainable innovation, redefining industrial practices from an ecological and responsible perspective.
